Wow, it's been a while since I've updated. Let's start out with a VERY photoshopped picture of the Ring of Brodgar.

Why yes, I did get some new software and toys to play with.
I worked at the store and on Base pretty much right up to the holidays and shortly thereafter. Didn't go anywhere. I did get out for a nice walk on Christmas day with my neighbor. Mom sent me some nice gifts, including candy cane JoeJoes from Trader Joes (yum), a pretty slate pendant from Wales, generous gift cards for a variety of places, a book written by David Ross (the Scottish historian who travels with the band Albannach), and lots of other thoughtful items. My aunt and uncle sent me a check, which paid for the aforementioned software and toy (a computer tablet).
Actually, New Year's was so quiet that it could almost be considered lame. I was in bed last night a little after 9:00. Seriously. I picked up Chinese food and a 6-pack of Corona on my way home from work yesterday and spent the evening surfing the net. Guess I'm not the party animal I used to be...
etainwilson called this evening to do a Wheel of the Year reading for me. Overall, it's very positive, and indicates some changes coming - some that I will need to take the initiative on, others that will present themselves in some way.
The rest of this weekend will be spent working at the store (tomorrow night and Saturday morning) and printing photos for the Scotland album, which I am still working on.
And now, for your reading pleasure, a 2008 quiz-thing:

Out by the purple islands,
Brave are the hearts that beat
Beneath Scottish skies.
Wild are the winds to meet you,
Staunch are the friends that greet you,
Kind as the love that shines from fair maiden's eyes.
Towering in gallant fame,
Scotland my mountain hame,
High may your proud standards gloriously wave,
Land of my high endeavour,
Land of the shining river,
Land of my heart for ever,
Scotland the brave."
