In light of the lovely morning I had last Friday, I decided to indulge in a little retail therapy. Well, it isn't really retail, but it certainly was therapeutic.

I finally nailed down the dates for my trip to Scotland and bought my tickets for my flights. Departure from Washington National (yes, I still refuse to call it Reagan National) to Glasgow on May 16, arrival back in the states evening of June 7. I've pretty much also figured out where I will be on what days whilst I'm there, too. I had a couple of date priorities - being in Banff/Macduff from 23-25 May for their first annual Arts Festival, and avoiding being in Lewis on a Sunday (because EVERYTHING is closed - you can't even take a ferry to the mainland). I think I've got everything worked out for the most part. Now I just need to obtain my Historic Scotland membership, contact the falconry course company about reservations, and make my room reservations in Banff/Macduff. Pretty much everything else can be played by ear.

Only 6 months away!

How exciting! I am happy that you are taking a trip over there. It will be my 4th trip over next month and it gets harder to leave each time. What a lovely place it is. My boyfriend lives in Glasgow but he'll actually be here when you are there as long as the customs officials don't give him a hard time again.

What are the reservations with the falconry course company all about? I've always wanted to get into falconry.

They have two locations - one in Jedforest in the Borderlands, the other at Dalhousie Castle outside of Edinburgh (which is the one I hope to get to).
