Oh boy, it's been an expensive week. And it's only Wednesday!
Monday afternoon, I stopped at my doctor's office to pick up the scripts for the drugs I'll need after next week's surgery. After that, I went to a local landscaping stone supplier and bought a pallet of tumbled blue flagstone for the walkway I've got planned in my head, and arranged for delivery. I arrived at my dance class about 30 minutes early and with my wallet $430 lighter. Cha-CHING!
Yesterday afternoon I made a trip to Navy Federal to deposit my store paycheck. Then headed into downtown F'burg to Roxbury Garden Center. I'd gone there after the home and garden show a few weeks ago and seen something I really liked. After thinking about it for a while, I decided "what the hell." Bought a beautiful carved granite birdbath. Had it loaded into the car and drove home, wallet another $250 lighter. Cha-CHING!
Good thing I'd actually budgeted all this money specifically for landscaping stuff. The birdbath wasn't planned, but I decided to use the money I'd planned to use to buy a kayak for the birdbath instead. So I wasn't eating into other funds.
I'll post a picture of the birdbath when I get it set up. I was only able to get the basin part out of the car myself (and that was about 50 pounds). The base is probably twice that weight. It's gorgeous, though, and I'm glad I got it. It has a nice, natural, organic design to it - no sharp corners or perfectly round elements to it. Just the look I was going for!
