Imagine what could happen if the results of these tests could be repeated and verified.
Would portions of the medical science community devote themselves to research to find a "cure" through genetic manipulation? Would there be a rise in amniocentesis procedures to determine not only a baby's gender, but its probability of being gay or lesbian? Would the number of abortions performed skyrocket when prospective parents find out that their anticipated bundle of joy isn't "perfect?"
What about the legal realm? If homosexuality is determined beyond a shadow of a doubt to be biological in origin, how would it be classified? As another type of gender? A physical handicap, genetic disorder, or chemical imbalance? Would a gay man or lesbian be protected by laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender or physical conditions?
The mind reels...
